📣 Superintendent’s Parent Roundtable 25–26 📣
On Thursday, October 2nd, Vanguard Academy hosted the first Superintendent’s Parent Roundtable of the year at the San Juan Memorial Library. Parents joined Superintendent Dr. Marisol Rocha for an engaging discussion on district initiatives, school updates, and ways families can help shape the future of our schools.
💬 The roundtable created a space to:
✅ Learn about district goals
✅ Share ideas & feedback
✅ Connect with other parents
✅ Participate in a Q&A session
🗓 Monthly meetings will continue through May 2026, and we look forward to welcoming more families to future sessions!

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for joining us during yesterday’s Parent Meetings. We appreciated the opportunity to share more about our meal services – where we started, where we are today, and our goals moving forward.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate this journey together. We are the first to acknowledge there are areas for improvement, and with your feedback and partnership, we are committed to enhancing the services we provide to our students.
With our shared purpose in mind – our students, your children – Vanguard Academy has made the decision to terminate meal service operations with Ordo, effective yesterday, Monday, September 22, 2025.
We are fully prepared to continue providing meals for our students, following the timeline outlined below:
Meal Service Action Plan:
Starting: Tuesday, September 23, 2025
Temporary Provider: Yummy's (former vended meal provider) will step in temporarily to ensure uninterrupted meal services beginning today Tuesday, September 23, 2025 for Mozart Elementary/Secondary, Rembrandt Elementary/Secondary, Picasso Elementary and Monet Elementary.
Beethoven Early College High School kitchen will step in to ensure uninterrupted meal services beginning today, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 for Beethoven Elementary.
Menus: Updated menus for September can be found on the Vanguard App under the Dining option or on our website under Parents and Students → Monthly Lunch Menus. Menu pictures will be shared with you starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Request for Proposal (RFP) Process:
Vanguard Academy will open an RFP to select a new vended meal provider.
RFP Open Period: (October 1, 2025 to October 16, 2025)
Projected Board Submission Date:
Tuesday, October 28, 2025 – RFP recommendation to be presented to the Board of Directors for review and approval.

La cocina de la escuela secundaria Beethoven Early College intervendrá para garantizar servicios de comidas ininterrumpidos a partir de hoy, martes 23 de septiembre de 2025 para la escuela primaria Beethoven.
